Worn Architecture 2015
Public intervention
Material: clothing, wood, ratchet strap
Dimensions: shelf 90 x 60 cm
Artwork realised on the occasion of the artist residency «Lichtenberg Studios» Berlin (DE)
«Worn Architecture» consists of a small wooden shelf that I strapped to trees and poles that stood in the near vicinity to block of flats.
Vast areas of Lichtenberg – an eastern district of Berlin – are defined by block of flats. Dense urban space, masses of living spaces piled up in functional architecture, paired with the silence on the pavements where just a few pedestrians remain.
Architecture and clothing share some qualities, not least the administration and codification of masses of people.
