«Ich bin auf der Jagd nach Konstruktionen. Ich komme in ein Zimmer und finde sie in einem Winkel weißlich durcheinander gehen.»
Kafka’s quotation «I am on the hunt for constructions. I come into a room and find them whitely merging in a corner.» Franz Kafka, The Diaries of Franz Kafka, 1913. (free translation) was rebuilt into seven wooden cuboids that were stacked into three towers.
After careful inspection single words could be read. Reading the whole quotation was nearly impossible, due to the conception of the work. Merely a part of the quotation, applied to the wall with latex colour, was readable without major effort.
The artwork was surrounded by a scaffolding due to the renovation of the Academy of Fine Arts Munich. The scaffolding accumulated a counterpart for the installation inside.
